Dear Families,
With the colder weather, I wanted to take this opportunity to connect with a few reminders for our school community.

Between recess, lunch and Phys Ed, our students spend time outside daily. Students must come to school prepared for the weather. This means warm jackets, snow pants, boots, hats and mitts are necessary. If you have any concerns about getting these items, please let us know.

We have been having some significant concerns about road safety at both drop-off and pick-up times. With snow in the forecast, it is important that we all work together to maintain safety for all our students and families. Please note the following:

-The staff parking lot is OFF LIMITS for all families. Please do not enter the lot or park here.

-Parents are asked to park along curbs and not in the middle of the road or on the corners. Traffic law states you must park a minimum of 5 meters away from the corner of a road.

-Please do not stop in the middle of the road to drop off students.

-When students are dropped off, they must walk to the nearest intersection/crosswalk to cross the road.

-When crossing the road, please look both ways to ensure it is safe to cross.

-Drivers, please maintain the speed limit of 30km/h in a school zone.

Thank you to everyone for your cooperation and teamwork to maintain a safe school community. In recent weeks we have heard many concerns about traffic safety around the school and Calgary Police have been made aware.  As a result, they may be around the school, to support with safety. If you have concerns, please let the school know.

Sincerely,

Mary-Elizabeth Kaiser
