Dear Families,
As we make our way through December, our students and staff have been busy learning and preparing for the change in season.
Families who have not picked up their ISSP gift bag and gift card, please see the main office by December 19. This must be picked up by a parent or guardian!
Our grade 5/6 classes had a successful trip to Outdoor School in early December. Thank you, Ms. Halls, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Griswold and Ms. Heaton for your supervision and leadership on this trip. Planning this is no small feat!
We have had a number of other classes go on field trips over the last few weeks. Thank you to parent volunteers, we appreciate your time and support! Thank you to our teachers for planning and organizing these events and our Parent Association for their financial support for these trips! These opportunities enrich learning and are an essential piece of the learning puzzle.
Thank you to Ms. Shelby for her work preparing students and organizing our Winter Solstice Celebration & Performance. We were so impressed with all the performances, well done students!
Nations Vision will be at Patrick Airlie School in January. Families, please watch for paperwork going home this month. If you would like your child to have an eye exam, please complete the paperwork and return it to your child's teacher.
When we return from Winter Break, January brings the opportunity to formally report on student achievement. While parents can always view assessment information through their myCBE account, teachers will be preparing report cards, to be shared in late January. K-3 teachers will also be engaging students in provincial Student Learning Assessments for literacy and mathematics.
CBE has also published the calendar for the 2025-26 school year. It can be viewed here. We will continue to share information about the 2025-26 school year throughout the winter and spring. If you have a child to register for Kindergarten for 2025-26, registration opens January 13, 2025. If you are interested in an alternative program, expressions of interest also open on this date.
Families who need support applying for financial waivers, can meet with experts from CBE at our school on February 4, 2025 from 1-3pm or February 10, 2025 from 10am-12pm. Reminders and details will be sent throughout the month of January. Please note: at this time, families can only apply for financial waivers for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years.
