Dear Families,
Welcome to November! We are getting ready for a busy month ahead here at Patrick Airlie School. This newsletter includes some important reminders and info on upcoming events this month.
Firstly, safety is of upmost importance. At this time we continue to have some significant concerns about safety at both drop-off and pick-up times. It is important that we all work together to maintain safety for all our students and families. Please note the following:
- The bus zone at the front of the school MUST be kept clear for daycare busses that need to park there at pick-up time. Please respectfully follow the posted signs.
- The staff parking lot is OFF LIMITS for all families. Please do not enter the lot or park here.
- Parents are asked to park along curbs and not in the middle of the road or on the corners.
- Traffic law states you must park a minimum of 5 meters away from the corner of a road.
- Please do not stop in the middle of the road to drop off students.
- No U-turns in the middle of the road please. This is a concern with the amount of traffic and pedestrians.
- When students are dropped off, they must walk to the nearest intersection/crosswalk to cross the road.
- When crossing the road, please look both ways to ensure it is safe to cross.
- Drivers, please maintain the speed limit of 30km/h in a school zone.
- Please be cautious, walking on school grounds, with the winter weather it can be slippery.
- A reminder, supervision does not begin until 8:10am and doors open at 8:15am. Please be mindful of these times, especially on cold weather days.
Thank you to everyone for your cooperation and teamwork to maintain a safe school community.
Please review the list of important dates and events coming up in November:
