Dear Families, 

Now that we are settled into the school year, October brings with it lots of activities and learning opportunities!

Firstly, an official welcome to Ms. Kelly Galvin our new Assistant Principal. Ms. Galvin has completed her first week at Patrick Airlie School, she has taken a jump right into the work. We are looking forward to having her as part of our school community!

Students participated in our annual Terry Fox Run last Friday. Their enthusiasm and participation for such a worthy cause was great to see. Thank you to the Patrick Airlie Parent Association and Giant Tiger for their generous donations. 

Swimming lessons are next this month! Please ensure your child has their form returned to their teacher ASAP. Lessons will be held on  Oct 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 and 24.  Classes will be walking to Bob Bahan Pool daily for their lesson. 

School pictures arrived at school and will be sent home with your child today or tomorrow. The best way to order is to follow the directions for ordering online but if you choose to return your order form to the school, the deadline is Oct 16. Re-takes and class photos will be Nov 5. 

All parents and guardians are invited to the AGM meeting for School Council & Fundraising Society. This will be held on Oct 16, 6pm at the school. This meeting will involve voting for executive position and we encourage parents and guardians to get involved and attend. 

Thank you to parents who completed the Travel Survey at Meet the Teacher. As we partner with Ever Active Schools to examine safe routes to school this year, your voice is important.  This will be a focus of our work this school year, please stay tuned for more details. 

Please note that for Halloween, we allow students to bring a costume and change into it for the afternoon only. It is up to parents and students if they choose to participate. We ask that costumes do not include masks or fake weapons.

Oct 11 - IPPs Sent Home (for those who have one)

Oct 14 - No School (Thanksgiving)

Oct 15 - Swimming Lessons Begin

Oct 16 - School Council & Fundraising Society AGM Meeting at 6pm

Oct 17 - Grade 5 & 6 at Hangar Flight Museum Field Trip

Oct 25 - No School (non-instructional day)

Oct 31 - Halloween
